Roof Painting

Coating the roof you already have

Roof painting refreshes the color and surface of a sound roof. It is a painting and coating service, not roof repair or replacement. If tiles are cracked, flashing is loose or there are active leaks, a roofer should address that first. On a roof in good condition, we start with a thorough cleaning to remove mildew, algae, dirt and loose material, because coatings only perform on a clean, dry surface.

Metal roofs get a rust-inhibiting primer where needed before the finish coats. Concrete and clay tile receive coatings made for roofs, applied evenly across every course. In the Central Florida sun, lighter colors reflect more heat and help keep the surface cooler. We finish the eaves, fascia, soffits and gutters at the same time, so the roofline reads as one clean, complete detail against the stucco.

Questions

Roof Painting FAQs.

Do you repair roofs?

No. Roof painting is a coating service for roofs that are already in sound condition. If your roof has leaks, broken tiles or damaged flashing, have a roofer handle the repair first and we can coat it afterward.

Which roofs can be painted?

Metal roofs and concrete or clay tile roofs are the usual candidates. We look at the material and condition on site and tell you plainly whether coating makes sense.

Will a lighter color keep the house cooler?

Light, heat-reflective roof coatings reflect more sunlight than dark ones, which keeps the roof surface cooler. How much that affects indoor comfort depends on the home, its attic and its insulation.
